What should go in a handover note?+
The things the next person would otherwise find out the hard way: what broke, what was started and not finished, who called in, what the delivery was short of. Not a shift report.
How is this different from shift messages?+
A message is addressed to somebody. A handover is addressed to whoever is next, which is often not known when it is written. It stays with the shift so the right person finds it.
Who can see a handover note?+
The people on the surrounding shifts and anyone managing that location. It is operational context rather than a private message.
